The course, geared for students ages 12 to 16, is taught by Chef Lisa Holmes, director of the children’s programs. Holmes said the class offers more than culinary instruction. Much like an internship, it provides hands-on experience for those who think they might want to pursue a career in the culinary arts."It is not only a social activity but it also shows them what more formal culinary schools would entail. Many students do not understand what culinary school really is but the Highfield Hall class really give them a good idea for what it would be like.
